The Auxiliary was first established in 1971 when it was the Crossett Health Center under the direction of Annette Lee. The Auxiliary is responsible to the hospital board through the Administrator of the hospital. All members are governed by the rules, regulations and policies of the hospital.
The Auxiliary is made up of volunteers who donate their time to benefit the hospital.
They:
Manage and staff the gift shop. The proceeds are given back to the hospital.
Maintain the courtesy desk.
Serve juice and coffee to patients.
Have an annual omelet breakfast in the community.
Escort visitors to various departments in the hospital.
They do so many things that we could not possibly list them all!
The Auxiliary strives to:
Support patients, families, hospital visitors, employees and physicians at ACMC.
Promote community awareness of ACMC.
Raise funds through special events to support hospital and community needs.
Promote the pursuit of health careers for qualified students with an annual scholarship of $1,000.00.
Through the years, the Auxiliary has donated approximately $45,000.00 to the hospital for the purpose of purchasing equipment for the hospital! Just recently they presented the hospital with a check for $11,000.00!!! Next time you see an Auxiliary member, you can recognize them by their signature pink jacket (ladies) and red vest (men), tell them "Thank You" for all that they do!
