Diabetes is the leading cause of Blindness, Kidney failure and amputations in this country. Millions of people have diabetes and thousands more will be diagnosed this year!! Never before has there been a program offered that educates Diabetics about this disease. Now, ACMC is very proud to be able to provide this service to the people of Ashley County.

Research has proven that by educating diabetics about their disease, that complications from diabetes can be postponed for years or even prevented!

We have been educating people with diabetes since June 2002.

We have been teaching people how to Take Control of their diabetes instead of letting diabetes take control over them! The classes are offered quarterly and are taught by RN's and RD's (Registered Dietitian).

Anyone can attend our classes regardless of how long you have had diabetes.

We encourage a significant other or support person to attend with you.

Handouts and other material are given to supplement the classes.

There is no fee for the class.
