The ACMC Labor & Delivery Unit was born in 2001. Upon Dr. Kula's arrival, it was clear that Ashley County was once again ready to have their babies delivered close to home.
Our birthing suites are state-of-the-art rooms that allow the mother to labor, deliver and recover all in one room! Each room is tastefully decorated and has all of the comforts of home!

Dr. Kula is our OB/Gyn. His practice includes women of all ages. Dr. Kula does not just deliver babies! His expert medical care also extends to women who need medical treatment for routine as well as gynecological problems. Dr.Kula is experienced in Gynecological surgery including laproscopic procedures.

Now with a rapidly growing Labor and Delivery Unit, Mary Lynn Smith came on board. She is a Certified Nurse Midwife. Some Nurse Midwives deliver babies at home, but Mary Lynn's practice is limited to private practice. She is experienced in routine gynecological care, in addition to the delivery of babies at the hospital. Her services include:

" Gynecological exams
" Pap Smears
" Breast exams
" Contraceptives
" Hormone Replacement Therapy

ACMC provides full service anesthesia 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. Warren Gouner and Greg Rabalais are our expertly skilled and experienced providers that specialize in all types of anesthesia. They provide anesthesia to the surgical patient as well as anesthesia to the Laboring mother!
