Occupational therapy is the science of directing man’s participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance; facilitate learning of everyday living and diminish or correct pathology. Occupational therapy treats patients in a variety of diagnosis such as stroke, head injury, spinal cord injury, hand and upper extremity injuries or surgeries and developmental disabilities. The goal of occupational therapy is to assist the patient in returning to the highest functional level as possible through education, exercise, and activities.
