Visitor Restriction In Place
Ashley County Medical Center is taking every precaution that we can to help keep our employees, patients, and visitors safe. Please see the below information:

POLICY
Visitor(s) must:
- Follow respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette
- Wear a mask at all times
- Must be screened prior to entrance into the facility
Hospital Patients:
- Two (2) adult visitors per day
- Two (2) visitors may visit at a time
Outpatient Patients:
- One (1) adult visitor to accompany the patient during the clinic’s normal hours of operation
ER Patients:
- One (1) adult visitor allowed.
Clergy
- A clergy member or a lay person offering religious or spiritual support may be physically present with a patient to pray with or offer spiritual support for the patient while the patient is receiving care.
May restrict access of any person to a patient if:
- The presence of visitors would be medically or therapeutically contraindicated.
- Restriction is requested by the patient or a law enforcement agency.
- Due to a court order.
- To prevent disruption to the care of the patient.
- If the patient has signs and symptoms of a transmissible infection.
- If the support person is determined to be a danger to the patient or to be contrary to the welfare of the patient and/or staff.
- Visitors are non-compliant with policies.
- Visitors are engaging in disruptive, threating, or violent behavior toward any staff member, patient, or other visitor.
Labor and Delivery Department

Patients are allowed to designate two (2) visitors during daytime hours
(0800-1900)
- These persons are the only two allowed during entire patient stay
- One of these are allowed overnight stays
- Both may stay overnight if the patient is in active labor
- Visitors may leave and re-enter the facility
COVID patients
- Allowed one visitor only per patient entire stay
- Person CAN NOT leave and re-enter the facility
- If visiting a patient in CCU, visitor will use the bathroom in the hallway right beside CCU entrance. Visitor must wear a mask at all times.
- Have visitor(s) sign the COVID liability form
End of life situations for COVID positive patients
- Allowed one visitor only per patient entire stay
- Person CAN NOT leave and re-enter the facility
End of life situations for NON-COVID positive patients
- Allowed four (4) visitors at the bedside at a time
- May be allowed to leave and re-enter the facility
- If the visitor is a minor, they must be accompanied by an adult (other than the patient) at all times
If access has been restricted due to a transmissible infection, staff shall allow access through telephone, telecommunication means, or other means.
