Anesthesia
ACMC's Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) are dedicated to
providing compassionate, evidence-based practice care during your surgical
procedure.
The CRNAs at ACMC use their vast skill sets to provide care to patients
in different settings and undergoing different procedures/surgeries, including:
- Airway management
- Diagnostic Lumbar Punctures
- Endoscopy
- General Surgery
- Gynecology
- Ophthalmologic surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Regional anesthesia and Nerve Blocks
- Vascular Access
The anesthesia department at ACMC is happy to introduce the Iovera° device to Ashley County as another way to help combat acute surgical and chronic knee pain without opioids. The Iovera° system is used to create lesions in the peripheral nervous tissue using cold therapy to block pain sensations. This treatment can last up to 90 days.
The department also offers regional anesthesia options, using ultrasound when applicable, to help provide state of the art acute pain management to our surgical patients. These options help to shorten hospital stays, decrease opioids, and improve the patient experience during their time here at ACMC.
Your CRNA will meet with you prior to surgery to complete a pre-operative interview to determine the best anesthetic for you. Your anesthesia professional will stay with you for the entire procedure, constantly monitoring every important function of your body and individually modifying your anesthetic to ensure your maximum safety and comfort.
