Insurance

Most insurance companies and Medicare cover wound care for qualified diagnosis. We will assist in obtaining verification of coverage from your insurance company prior to starting treatments.

Follow Up with Your Doctor

The Wound Healing Center doctor serves as a consultant who will work closely with your Primary Care doctor to manage the healing process.

Our Staff

The Ashley County Medical Center Wound Healing Staff includes RN's, LPN's, and CNA's, physicians and technicians who have received special training in wound care. All are dedicated to the common goal of healing your wound.

A Multidisciplinary Approach

We offer a full range of treatment options for all types of wounds. Our trained specialists follow a multidisciplinary approach to complex wound healing. We are committed to providing care with dignity and respect and have one goal in mind, to heal your wound. Our staff coordinates wound care with each patient's primary care physician and specialty care providers to ensure their overall well-being. Your care is directed by a physician, who will assess your wound and treatment options with you. Education is part of our overall care and we encourage questions or concerns. You can call the Wound Clinic anytime during regular business hours.

Our Wound Clinic offers both conventional and specialty dressings. We assess your wound to determine the most appropriate type of treatment dressings. As the wound heals, your wound dressings may be modified. You will be given instructions on how to change your dressing at home. If you are using a home health agency, we will work with them to coordinate your dressing changes.
