Social Services

Assistance for Patients at our Crossett Hospital

Ashley County Medical Center’s Social Services Team is here to assist patients and their families with a variety of needs. From psychiatric treatment to discharge planning needs, the social workers complement ACMC’s staff of professional doctors and nurses to take excellent care of all patients and their families.

Social Services staff are available Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm and as needed.

Meet the Team

Barron Brown, LMSW

Barron earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University in August 2018. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University May 2020. She completed her social work internship at Cypress Grove Behavioral Health. She has been a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) since September 2020. Barron is currently serving as the Director of Social Services. She provides individual and group therapy in IOP and Generations. She also provides services for the social services department where she assists with case management and Swingbed program. Prior to joining ACMC, she was an intake/UR coordinator and a mental health therapist at Cypress Grove Behavioral Health in Bastrop, LA. Her experience in the social services field include the Arkansas Department of Children and Family Services, outpatient counseling, and inpatient psychiatry.

Hannah Ragas, MSW

Hannah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Nicholls State University in December 2018. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University in June 2021. Hannah completed her graduate internships at Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center in Rayville, LA and Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston, LA. She is currently serving as a case manager where she assesses treatment needs for patients, completes patient discharge planning, complete Swingbed assessments, and provides psychoeducation to patients. Her experience in the social services field includes The ARC of Ouachita and Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.

Jeremy McDaniel , Bachelor’s degree in Psychology

Jeremy McDaniel, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a focus on Crisis Counseling from Liberty University. Jeremy joined the Ashley County Medical Center in April of 2019. Jeremy’s responsibilities include daily rounding on patients on the Med-Surg unit and CCU/ICU unit as well as referrals for patients to nursing home care, rehab units, home health, community resources, addiction treatment and the list goes on. Jeremy works closely with medical doctors, nurses, and other staff to ensure that all patient’s and family’s needs are met.
