Ashley County Medical Center announces Marie Stephenson, RN, BSN, CEN as our new Chief Nursing Officer.
Marie began her nursing career in 1991, as an LPN. She received her Associates of Applied Science in Nursing in 1997. She worked as an ADN for twelve years before achieving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010, from Chamberlain College of Nursing. Her many years of experience include Emergency, Obstetrics, and Medical Surgical nursing. She is a Board Certified Emergency Nurse with several years of management experience. She worked for nearly four years as Chief Nursing Officer at Morehouse General Hospital.
Ashley County Medical Center’s Chief Executive Officer, Phillip Gilmore, states, “We are excited to welcome Marie Stephenson to Ashley County Medical Center. She is a long-time resident of Ashley County and has a vested interest in our community. She has worked for many years at ACMC and other surrounding medical centers. She will bring with her vast knowledge and leadership experience to support our staff and patients. Please join me in welcoming her to the ACMC team.”
Marie will begin her career as Chief Nursing Officer on June 12, 2023 and will overlap with our current Chief Nursing Officer, Mattie Keaster.
